Lounsberry Meadow, a senior citizen and handicapped income-restricted facility, was conceived by a group of local concerned citizens who saw a need for this type of housing in this area.

And so, a joint venture - the town, then known as Passaic Township, two banks and diligent work obtaining grants and loans from affordable housing agencies - Lounsberry Meadow was constructed in 1992 at 1449 Valley Road, Stirling, NJ.

Today, 17 years later, Lounsberry Meadow, sitting on attractively landscaped, well-maintained grounds, has entered the 21st Century by embarking on an energy-saving solar panel project.
