The Millington Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1913.
The Millington Vol. Fire Co. answered 179 alarms in 2009 and 171 alarms in 2010. The volunteers also expend 1000 hours in training and maintenance each year.
The 20 active members of the Fire Company accomplish their fire fighting tasks using:
- A 2001 E-One pumper with a foam system - Engine 11
- A 1992 E-One 75 foot aerial pumper/ladder truck - Truck 14
- A 2007 Ford four wheel drive Brush truck - Brush 13. This truck responds to all brush fires and off-the-road fire and rescue situations.
- A 2002 Ford Support Truck - Millington 12. New in the Summer of 2002, this special purpose truck carries our rescue equipment and gear, along with pumps and hazmat equipment.
The company has a Junior Firefighter program for 16-21 year olds. Inquire.
The Millington Vol. FC sponsors a Kid's Christmas Party. Details here in season.
The Millington Volunteer Fire Company supports itself through an annual fund drive. Please remember that the money you contribute is used to provide fire protection and rescue services to you and your family. We can't think of a better investment!
And of course, we'd like you to consider joining the Millington Fire Company and help protect YOUR community in a hands-on way. Email us or stop by the firehouse any Thursday night.
